Did you know that Obama/Biden assured Israel of $3.8 billion in military aid annually for ten years? Trump has not increased it one iota.
Did you know that Obama/Biden approved funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system that has saved countless lives?
Did you know that Obama/Biden, through a major internationally approved agreement, prevented Iran from continuing development of atomic weaponry for ten years?
And did you know that Trump voided that agreement seven years before it was due to end? Do you believe Israel feels safer as a result?
If you believe that Israel would have been safer if there never was such an agreement, what would have been your alternative? Military action?
Did you know that Trump ceded Syria, Israel’s sworn enemy, to Iran and Russia? This happened when he decided to withdraw US troops from Syria. General Mattis resigned because of this decision. He knew how dangerous this was for Israel and the region.
Did you know that Trump approved the abandonment of the Kurds who were strong friends of Israel and helped the United States defeat Al Quada in Iraq and Syria?
While Trump approved the moving of Israel’s capital to Jerusalem almost three years ago, that move has accomplished nothing. His move has been followed by a total of only five other countries, including the Marshall Islands and the Republic of Vanuatu.
Trump has been working on his Middle East peace plan for almost three years. What does he have to show for all the brouhaha he has generated for his master plan. Short answer is NOTHING. He has announced the normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain with Israel.
The UAE and Bahrain are respectively 1500 and 1100 miles away from Israel and are dwarfed in population by Iraq and Iran, enemies of Israel, that are much closer to Israel. Trump has had no success with either Lebanon or Syria, Israel’s next door neighbors. By ceding Syria to the Russians he has allowed Iran (population 7 times the combined populations of Bahrain and UAE)) to move its forces to Israel’s borders.
With a friend in the White House like Trump, the long tradition of bipartisan support for Israel has been broken. Don’t be fooled.
