Mark Galli, editor-in chief of Christianity Today wrote in the December 19, 2019 issue referring to Donald Trump, “This president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud … He is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost.”
Galli continued, “To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record, we say this: Remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior.”
Following his Dump Trump message, it was reported that there were three times as many new subscribers to the evangelical publication than those who cancelled their subscriptions.
It was reported in the August 25 issue of Independent that Billy Graham’s granddaughter when referring to Donald Trump stated, “His behavior is antithetical to the Jesus we serve.”
If you believe that the bible is sacred, what was your reaction seeing Trump hold it upside down outside St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, DC as part of his planned teargassing attack of peaceful demonstrators?
As an evangelical Christian, how do you feel about his August 21, 2019 tweet supporting the idea that he is the King of Israel and the second coming of God?
It was reported in the September 5, 2020 ANS Religion News Service that Pastor Doug Pagitt, an evangelical preacher from Minnesota, said, “If Donald Trump doesn’t cause you to not support Donald Trump, there’s nothing we can do that’s going to convince you of that.”
Friends Don’t Let Friends NOT Vote!
The only way we can flip Florida blue this election is if we vote in huge numbers. Help a friend vote. Talk to them about how important their voice is this year. Know a young person who is eligible to vote for the first time? Talk with them about current events and make sure they vote early or show up at the polls on November 3.
With your help, we can and we will make a difference in our state, our country, and the world.
What Can You Do?
- Vote early!
- If you have a mail-in ballot, send it back immediately. It must arrive by Election Day or it will not be counted.
- Drop your mail-in ballot off at your Supervisor of Elections office OR any secure Early Voting dropbox in your county.
