Trump has been an utter disaster on every issue that touches our daily lives. Let’s break a few of them down:
THE PANDEMIC
We are living with one of the greatest failures of presidential leadership. With no plan to control Covid-19 we have 213,000 deaths so far and likely to reach 300,000 by year’s end. This President has failed to protect your family or himself, his family or associates, by flaunting the advice of the CDC and experts to use face masks, social distancing and crowd size control.
Joe Biden will provide public health guidance recommended by the CDC and scientists necessary to meet the dire challenge of the pandemic.
HEALTH CARE
Since 2016 Trump has promised a health care plan that would cost less and cover more. No such plan exists. He claims to support preexisting conditions while his Justice Department is in Federal courts fighting to eliminate it. If he is reelected millions will lose health insurance.
Joe Biden helped pass the Affordable Care Act, providing affordable insurance to millions including your children until the age of 26 and those with pre-existing conditions. He has pledged to continue to improve the ACA. He supports creating a government insurance option that competes with for profit insurance companies.
THE ECONOMY
Millions have lost jobs, hours, pay, health care or the small businesses they started. This is due entirely to Trump’s mismanagement of the pandemic.
Joe Biden will lead us, guided by science, to control the pandemic and thereby create an environment where businesses can reopen. He has long term plans to create millions of good paying jobs in tomorrow’s industries and to give America’s working families the tools, choices and freedom to build back better. Today working families are in distress, while Trump is playing politics with desperately needed relief measures.
YOUR SAFETY
“A house divided against itself cannot stand” (Abe Lincoln at Gettysburg). Trump is dividing us, encouraging violence and vigilantism all as part of a strategy to take the focus off his failures. The FBI warns that white supremacists and racist terrorists pose the greatest risk of violence in the US. Yet Trump repeatedly refuses to condemn such organizations and supports them with dog whistles of encouragement.
When asked to condemn one such group, the “Proud Boys”, he refused and instead told them to “stand by” meaning be ready to act when called upon. Another such group planned to kidnap the Governor of Michigan (a Trump antagonist) and put her on trial. Trump’s invective and hate-ridden divisive language is reminiscent of Hitler in the 1930s.
Joe Biden is a good man who will heal the nation and quiet the atmosphere of hate and divisiveness.
